BHA uses a team approach to evaluate investment goals, tax planning issues, insurance, retirement needs, and estate planning matters. We bring these together in a formal comprehensive financial plan that is used as a road map for the “right” investment program. Our investment process manages risk in a manner that complements a clients goals and objectives, and considers the impact of taxes and their long-term lifestyle requirements using our “bucket strategy.” We are an independent-minded practice and do not sell products.
Uncertainty During a Job Change
A corporate executive who was laid off from his employer came to us for guidance while in job transition. We created a financial plan to help answer many of the questions he had. Can I afford to accept a less stressful job and make less money? Is it possible to continue funding my financial goals? Do I have enough money to retire? What should I do with my retirement plan held with my former employer?
Widow in Transition
A 60 year old widow overwhelmed with grief and the responsibilities of wealth management was experiencing a lack of guidance
and direction. In conjunction with the other key advisors in her life, we helped organize her finances and develop a clear path the client understood and felt comfortable with.
Small Business Owner
The rewards of owning a small business come with their own unique set of challenges. We work with small business owners to establish retirement plans for themselves and their employees while also focusing on their personal retirement planning and long term goals.
Couple Defining Their Estate Plan
For many couples who have an estate valued under $5.2M they don’t feel the need to be concerned about estate taxes. The reality is that state exemption levels can be much lower, such as Massachusetts at $1M. We work with many couples to help them understand ways to
maximize the amount they could transfer to future generations.
Divorce
The process of divorce is not only stressful, but requires an enormous amount of organization as it relates to personal finances. We help clients bring together their affairs during the process, and plan for the changes coming in their future.
Sale of a Business
Selling a business that you’ve worked hard to build can be an overwhelming process that requires the coordination of various professionals. We work closely with clients, their CPA’s and attorneys as we quarterback the process from start to finish.
A Growing Family
A working couple with a growing family came to us for financial planning and investment advice. We helped them navigate the challenges of saving for retirement and funding higher education costs. Their customized investment plan takes into consideration their time horizon, risk tolerance and financial goals.
Sudden Wealth
For many people, coming into a financial windfall can be an overwhelming life event. We work with clients on developing an overall strategy based upon their goals, time horizon and risk tolerance. Oftentimes, we develop a “bucket strategy” for investable assets, creating multiple portfolio strategies for money to be used over certain timeframes.
